This week we honor Aubrey Joens of the IC High Girls Basketball team as the Sheet Metal Workers Local 263 of Eastern and Central Iowa Athlete of the Week! Joens, a junior, is the top scorer for the unbeaten City High Girls, currently rated number one in the state in Class 5A. Joens is 10th in the state in scoring at 22.9 points a game and is coming off a 27 point game in a win at Linn-Mar. Joens also averages over seven rebounds a game as well as over three steals a contest. Joens will join her older sister Ashley at Iowa State to play her college ball in two years.
