This week we honor Izaak Hajek of the Iowa City West Boys Swimming team as the Sheet Metal Workers Local 263 of Eastern and Central Iowa Athlete of the Week! Hajek, a junior, won two individual events and was a member of the winning 200 medley relay team as well at last Saturday’s MVC Swimming meet at Linn-Mar. Hajek also set a new MVC record of 51.09 in the 100 meter butterfly race. With these accomplishments, Hajek was named Mississippi Valley Conference Swimming Athlete of the Year.
