This week we honor Jacob Bockenstedt of the CR Washington Baseball team as the Sheet Metal Workers Local 263 of Eastern and Central Iowa Athlete of the Week! Bockenstedt, a senior, was a 1st team all Mississippi Valley Conference-Valley Division selection as a pitcher. Bockenstedt was 7-1 for the year, prior to the State Tournament, with a 2.40 ERA and 85 strikeouts. Bockenstead was terrific with the bat as well, hitting .412 with 3 homers and 41 rbi’s for Washington.
