This week we honor Jacob Wempen of the Linn-Mar Wrestling team as the Sheet Metal Workers Local 263 of Eastern and Central Iowa Athlete of the Week! Wempen, a senior, won the Class 3A 182 pound championship last Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Wempen capped off a 37-1 season with a pin of Devin Ludwig of Western Dubuque in the finals. Wempen was the lone metro champion from this year’s state meet.
