This week we honor the Jefferson Football team as this week’s John’s Lock and Key “Metro Spotlight Team of the Week”. The J-Hawks finished the regular season with a 6-3 record and a tie for 2nd in District 5 of Class 4A after a 43-16 victory over Linn-Mar. Jefferson qualified for the playoffs and defeated Dubuque Senior 61-43 in an exciting battle at Cornell College in Mt.Vernon on Wednesday night. The win was the first post-season win for Jefferson since 1992. The J-Hawks will now face Washington in the second round at Kingston Stadium.
