This week we honor Micah Poellet of the Linn-Mar Girls Cross Country team as the Sheet Metal Workers Local 263 of Eastern and Central Iowa Athlete of the Week! Poellet, a sophomore, won the Girls Class 4A State Qualifying Meet on Thursday at Noelridge Park in Cedar Rapids. Poellet ran a time of 17:52.64 and won by nearly a minute and helped to lead the Lions to a 3rd place finish and a qualifying spot in the Cross Country Meet to be held next Saturday morning in Fort Dodge.
