This week we honor Payton Wensel of the Linn-Mar Girls Track and Field team as the Sheet Metal Workers Local 263 of Eastern and Central Iowa Athlete of the Week! Wensel was named the “Outstanding Girls High School Performer” at the Drake Relays this past weekend in Des Moines. Wensel won, or helped win, three events and finished 2nd in fourth. The Lions set a record in the Sprint Medley Relay and Wensel set a record in the 400 meter hurdles. Wensel, a senior, will run for the Iowa Hawkeyes next year.
