Todd’s Sportin’ NYE Morning Extravaganza

It's the final show of 2024 and Todd goes out in only a way he can...alone and talking to himself in the dark. Missouri trumped Iowa in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl with one decision by Kirk Ferentz hanging over the loss. Maybe it was the right call and maybe it worked out, but it was a reminder of what Iowa Football is (and isn't) in the new era of college football. BMOC is awarded to Missouri's kicker, who single-handedly won the game for the Tigers in the fourth quarter. At 17-13 ATS, another round of bowl game picks could be make or break. An interesting proposal on how to fix college football gets Todd's attention at the top of the 8 o'clock hour. We spin the Wheel of Beef for the last time in 2024 and use it as an opportunity forgive those with whom we've beefed. That's it. That's the last show of 2024. Happy New Year!

Consider it a "Music City Monday" as Todd gets ready for this afternoon's TransPerfect Music City Bowl between Iowa and Missouri. Todd thinks Mizzou wins and covers, but given the recent regression in bowl picks (now 16-13 ATS) that may not be a bad thing. Iowa State won the Pop Tarts Bowl but apparently you are not allowed to question whether things would have been different had Cam Ward not opted out of the second half. Tom Kakert of HawkeyeReport.com joins the show from Nashville in the final hour and hints at an intriguing change to the Iowa offense.

It's Pop Tarts Bowl eve morning and the thought of consuming anthropomorphic breakfast pastries has Todd looking forward to Iowa State and Miami Saturday. The Hawkeyes will be bowling without a key piece of their offensive line next week, but there's good news on the O-line front as well as another player revealed they're returning in 2025. Call it the Kaleb Johnson Conundrum, but Iowa's ground game may have been too successful this season and it may have cost the Hawks in the transfer portal. The Bears were a dud on Thursday Night Football and one series in particular was a microcosm not only for the season but the entire organization. At 11-3 ATS so far this bowl season, Todd fires 13 more shots in the dark on games played over the next two days.
