Christmas is coming fast and Tim Lester's holiday shopping may not be finished yet as the Hawkeyes are tied to another - and highly intriguing - QB in the transfer portal. That same QB left his team in a bind as it prepares for a playoff game this weekend. It's another example of how broken the transfer window in college football is. Speaking of the Hawkeyes, a trio of Hawks (Quinn Schulte, Ethan Hurkett & Jaxon Rexroth) stopped by the station for a chat earlier in the week. If Geno Auriemma calls you offering a game, just say no. The Cubs dumped Cody Bellinger's salary on the Yankees but Todd says it'll only be a win if that money gets reinvested in the team. What are the five worst words in sports? "Rob Manfred has an idea"  The Mountain West provides a reason to spin the Wheel of Beef.

Spending the show's entire yearly budget on a fog horn seemed like a bad idea, but it came in handy today. It's finals week in Iowa City and Ames, thus begins one of the slowest weeks of the sports calendar. There was sizable football news from the weekend with the Hawkeyes picking up a transfer portal QB and a preferred walk-on with an NFL pedigree. Both the Iowa and Iowa State men took the court for the first time since last Thursday's battle in Iowa City, and both overmatched their opponents. The Iowa women, on the other hand, fell short in their Big Ten opener. Could Sunday's Bills vs. Lions game been a Super Bowl preview? A pair of trades last Friday shook up the National League Central, but will Kyle Tucker be a Cub for more than just the 2025 season?
