Spencer on Sports (S.O.S.) will cover everything that’s trending in the sports world. By combining local, regional, and national perspectives, we’ll talk about what’s happening and why it matters to sports fans – and have some fun – every afternoon from 4p-6p on KGYM!
Spencer Wagen is the true definition of someone who lives and breathes sports. He always has a game on the TV at home or on the radio when he’s in the car, plus he’s always following the action and keeping track of stats, trends and facts about teams and athletes – and he’s excited to share his perspective and more each weekday with “Spencer on Sports!”
Spencer is a native Iowan, having been born in Dubuque, and grew up just west of Madison, Wisconsin in the heart of Badger country, so he’s well versed in Big Ten football and basketball.
Spencer spent time on the radio covering sports all over the Badger State before moving to eastern Iowa and joining KGYM. He’s a fan of all of Wisconsin’s pro teams – the Packers, Brewers and Bucks, but loves college football and basketball the most!
When he’s not hosting SOS or taking care of other duties around the station, you can find Spencer at a sporting event (surprise, surprise), exploring the corridor finding new places to eat or hang out, or spending way too much money on sports cards and memorabilia for his collection.
Isaac Elzinga was born and raised in Iowa City, after Graduating from Iowa City HIgh School, in 2018, he attended Kirkwood Community College receiving an associates of arts degree in the fall of 2022. Isaac is planning on transferring to the University of Iowa in the fall of 2023 where he plans to get a degree in communications.
Isaac, like most people in Iowa City Isaac is a fan of the Hawkeyes. He is also a fan of the Packers, Utah Jazz, Dodgers, and is a big soccer fan with his favorite team being Manchester United. Apart from sports Isaac is also a fan of some nerdy things like The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars.
Isaac is always excited to talk and learn about sports. He is looking forward to taking your phone calls and reading your texts to see what’s on your mind in the sports world.
